University Week - De La Salle University-Manila

yeah, this january 24-28 was the celebration of the university week of de la salle university-manila... full of activities and surprises, and not to mention LEAP...

and in line with the university week, means this is the perfect time to give quizzes because its been 3 weeks since we had our 1st class.. and so, monday quizzes: COMSTA2 and FINAMA2... comsta2 was easy for me... i mastered the differences between population and sample because if you don't know it, you'll be in trouble... i checked it again, and luckiliy, i found some mistake... and i had corrected it... end result: 37.5/38 or 99% Why isn't it perfect? It's because of the shit 4 significant digits rule... haay...

finama2 was also all right... i was afraid of what ms. almonte will give to us, but surprisingly, it all went good... i had this problem in the last number which eventually is my mistake, so i got a 90% on her quiz... im looking forward to the additional points on saturday... (actually, i've just finished the make up class a while ago, and we received a whopping +25 for quizzes 1 and 2 because of the "quiz bee" we played... magaling kasi group namin... that makes me 203/200 sa mga quizzes [hahaha...])

tuesday was a litera2 quiz for me... i didn't like the questions because it was an essay type of question. but i think its ok... the funny thing there was when jc (blockmate) wasn't able to erase his writings on the chair, which is an evidence of cheating. luckily, he was able to erase it using my eraser... hehehe...

wednesday came, and i heard that kitchie nadal will be performing in the amphitheater, and to the whole lasallians surprise, she didn't came... (awww... oooohhhh... wag na wag mong sasabihin....)

thursday, was the LEAP or lasallian enrichment alternative program... i enrolled in spanish class... i enjoyed this very much because i learned so many words in spanish... i was able to form sentences also... nakakatawa pa yung instructor namin dito because she keeps on saying puta, or puta madre or translating sex words into spanish... hehehehe...

friday came and there was this concert... whew... astig sya... 6 cycle mind, sandwich ang mga sikat... there was this band called "bloomfield" and their music is 70's and 80's music... this made lasallians alive... the concert ended 11:30pm... i was a marshall here, catering the needs of the older lasallian people and ensuring security... active ako eh... every pahinga, i went to tapat tambayan and had fun with tapat people... ganon pala kakukulit sina steph wong, charston at beni... hehehe...

so that was the fruitful week... i enjoyed it so much... hehehe...

volleyball... training... binondo... wai ying... subjects... birthday...

sa wakas, nakapagpost na ulit ako... anyway, maganda ang start ng classes ko yesterday, kahit na may quiz sa comlaw2 (may mali na yata ako...) come ubreak, meron pakulo ang batch assembly namin na matira matibay. it's a volleyball game wherein the person who will stay in the game until the end will win 500 bucks. walang kahirap-hirap. just win, you'll have money.

kasi naman, nung 4 na lang kami, nag service yung kalaban namin, na-receive ng kakampi ko, biglang itinaas yung bola... eh nasa setter side ako... so malamang hindi ko mahahabol di ba... ayon, e di tanggal ako... sayang! P500 din yun... may pagga-gamitan na sana yung pera na yun... anyway, after that laro-laro muna kami hanggang sa matapos an ubreak... in fairness, si bossing jm, nakita ko na rin ang galing nya sa volleyball... varsity nga siya ng greenhills.. pinuputo lang ang mga spikes ko... si boni, may hidden talent sa volleyball.. hehehe...

that night, i attended the seminar of tapat, which is ideologies by prof. ed gan... kadiri, ngayon ko lang nalaman na ang leftist pa pala ang mababait at rightist pa pala ang masama... bad trip... so ibig-sabihin hindi ako nakikinig nung frosh ako... hahha...

after training, nagkayakagan sa binondo with gov. beni and jm... sabi ko, tanong ko si boni kung pupunta siya para may kasabay ako... and pumayag siya so, sama na rin ako... sinabi ko na first tym ko lang makakapunta ng binondo and natawa sila... sorry naman, eh laking las pinas kasi ako... so ayon, nag tour sa binondo kaya natuwa naman ako (what a loser... pasensiya na talaga) we ate at wai ying... masarap ang food at affordable prices... hehehe... daldalan about general elections, joke time with boni, and may natutunan ako na bagong motto... life is an "f" word.. (thanks beni!) nakauwi na ako kagabi ng 11:30pm...

signature campaign for susan power? ano yun? para saan pa ito? ano ba talaga ang laban na ipagpapatuloy nila ngayong wala na si FPJ? wat do they want? make susan roces our president? crappy shit.... ang masa nga talaga... basta idol...

ang mga pulitiko naman, united opposition, for what? para lalong magkagulo sa gobyerno? instead of thinking the welfare of their constituents, kung ano-anong walang kakwenta-kwentang bagay ang mga pinag-uusapan nila... nakakainis talaga...

welcome home erap! sana naman ngayong ok na ang tuhod mo, wala ka ng hihilingin pang iba... nasunod na lahat ng gusto mo... kaya behave na ok...

o ikaw naman pres. arroyo, patunayan na ikaw talaga ang nararapat sa pwesto mo... para hindi na nagrereklamo ang mga taong bayan...

eh yung sim, 1999 pa binili... hindi na matagpuan kung nasaan yung lintik na puk code... ayun! i immediately bought a new sim card for my nanay plus damages. damages, meaning to say, may load pa kasi yung na block na sim na P230, so as i promised, i'll be the one who will buy the load if the P50 original load will be gone... hahaha... what a loser... napagastos ako ng wala sa oras...

Moral Lesson: tandaan ang pin code, at wag makialam... hehehe...

hay naku... sa wakas nakatapos na ulit ng isang linggo... i enjoyed this week very much... parang dumaan lang siya... hahaha... pero in fairness, madami akong natutunan... full load na naman ang weekend... aral ng finama2, aral din ng comlaw2, may quiz na kasi on monday...

kapst, my blockmate, told me: "arnel, alam mo, feeling ko, ang saya-saya mo ngayon.." what she really means by that was masaya na ako sa buhay college ko ngayon... i think siguro nga kasi maayos ngayon ang pag-aaral ko... wala na akong iisipin na retention grade na 2.0 sa kahit anong subjects... wala na rin masyado nagpapahirap sa akin... oo, masaya ako dito... at least, i really enjoy my college life...

but that doesn't end there... behind that great smile, andon pa rin ang pagka-inis ko sa sarili kung bakit hindi ko napasa yung punyetang qualifying exam na yan... shit talaga... yan ang isa sa nagpababa ng aking moral... bwiset... but i am, little by little, forgetting what happened... ang iniisip ko na lang, like what lorelee is always telling me, "god has a plan for me..." hehehe...

so cheer up di ba... malay mo, maganda pa pala ang buhay ko after i graduate with my course... hehehe...

wag kayong mag-alala, kung mabuti ang pakikitungo ko sa inyo, hindi kayo to... hindi naman ako plastik eh... hehehe.... naglalabas lang ng sama ng loob sa mga taong bwiset...

Hitting the Top of the Book Chart

New Harry Potter tops book chart

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has topped Amazon's book chart less than 24 hours after its release date - 16 July - was announced.

Thousands of customers placed pre-orders on the amazon.co.uk website for the sixth book in the series.

Rowling revealed she had completed the novel on Tuesday, ahead of the scheduled
announcement on 25 December.

It will be published simultaneously in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

JK Rowling's fifth book in the wizard series, Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix was Amazon's largest pre-ordered item ever, with 420,000 copies pre-ordered prior to its release in June 2003.

Customers who pre-order Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince avoid standing in long queues at bookshops on the day of the book's release next July.

"The fact that the book has already hit number one in our Hot 100 books chart shows how incredibly excited customers are about the sixth Harry Potter," said Amazon's Robin Terrell.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince takes up the story of Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as Lord Voldemort grows stronger.

Rowling has already revealed that the Half-Blood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldemort.
And she added that the opening chapter of the book had been brewing in her mind for 13 years.

Rowling said she had plenty of time while pregnant "to tinker with the manuscript to my satisfaction and I am as happy as I have ever been with the end result".

She also previously revealed that a character will be killed in the sixth book, but she has given no hints as to who it might be.

Following publication of the sixth book, just one novel remains to complete the series.

--> Now i know kung bakit siya ganon magsalita, kasi na-paralyzed daw siya... ok naman... parang si dr. badillo ng comcalc.. kailangan lang makinig sa kanya... kaya ko siguro... mag-aaral lang ako mabuti... ang dami kagad pinapa-xerox. buti na lang nagawa ko na kagad... hehehe..

---> eto yung prof na sobrang proud sa pagiging lasallian... para siyang nag-pep talk sa amin, telling us na lasallians are magaling, tapos talo daw sa mga ateneans sa porma, eh hindi na daw namin kailangan yun dahil mas magaling daw tayo... ibang level... astig siya... yung requirement nya na legal notebook, feeling ko matrabaho, pero 10 points din yun... feeling ko, magiging mganda ang diskusyon sa comlaw2...

---> nagulat ako nung pumasok siya... sabi ko, matanda na, at mukhang matapang... hehehe... wala namang ginawa ng first day, pinasulat niya lang ang mga favorite novel, poems, movie, etc. yung mga nilagay ko, yung mga nabasa ko nung litera1 pa, tama ba naman sabihan ako na panahon pa yun ng mga lolo ko... hehehe... sorry ha, yun lang kasi nababasa ko... feeling ko, ok na rin yung class na yun kasi nandon yung makulit na 102 na kaklase namn sa comath2... sinabi niyang favorite movie daw niya ay, "isusumbong kita sa tatay ko" by FPJ, and juday... idol daw niya kasi si da king... hahhaa.,.. sobrang laugh trip... strikto siya i think pero kailangan lang siguro maging masunurin....
